Gives a quick brew for one cup but the quality of the brew is average.
I bought this because my aunt hates making a pot of coffee, when there is just her to drink it. I have had this type of coffee maker for years. We took it to her, when we went to visit last December. She loves it.I also like the way that Amazon.com shipped the product in such a timely manner.Thanks.
I bought this for my mother for Christmas, she LOVES it. The cup leaked a bit, she called the maker and they sent her a new one, no questions asked. She comments about it all the time, good deal.
I have owned this "DCM18 Type 1" - written on the bottom of the unit - for 3 months. I have not been able to master pouring coffee out of the mug into another container without the dribbling. I do not use the mug to drink the coffee though.
The one odd thing about it is the mug. When I do this, coffee inevitably runs down the side of the mug while I am pouring it. Overall, It works very well, makes good coffee.
Instead I pour the coffee from the mug into another mug or a big cup. I use the mug to fill the water reservoir and the mug dribbles water. Over time, I have found just the right way to pour the water into the reservoir without the water also dribbling down the side of the mug.
So I do it over the sink so I don't have to wipe down the counter. Perhaps I should be instead drinking right out of the mug and that would solve the problem - but I don't want to do it that way.I use a #1 filter in the filter basket for easier cleanup, trimming a #2 filter back a 1/2" also works well. The coffee is hot and tasty.
I was glad to find that B&D still made this product. The one I had before replacing this was also B&D and it lasted over 10 years.
